He had hoped to come back before the end of the RBS 6 Nations, but will now have to wait until the start of March to make his return to action after not being included in the Toulon squad to take on Lyon on Saturday.
In Trinh-Duc's absence, Camille Lopez has started both games of the Championship for Les Bleus, kicking 17 points in the win over Scotland on Sunday.
Meanwhile winger Gabriel Lacroix, who had been called into the French squad ahead of the second game, also misses out for his club La Rochelle this weekend.
